Albert is an award-winning Asian American writer of Film and TV focused on telling stories of diverse, underrepresented voices through elevated genre.
Born and raised Tibetan Buddhist in the Deep South (Alabama), his writing often explores his own existential search for meaning and home.
He currently lives in LA, where he finds meaning playing a lot of basketball and singing a lot of karaoke.

Think Netflix’s BEEF - but grounded sci-fi and set in Texas. So not really like BEEF at all.. BUT it is centered on two AAPI leads with different world views at each other’s throats.
This script was actually inspired by the divide in the AAPI community during the spike in Asian hate crimes during 2020, followed by George Floyd’s murder and subsequent BLM movement.

This is my A24, off-the-wall (yet tasteful), artistic fuck you to Quentin Tarantino for his portrayal of Bruce Lee in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
I will shoot and set this film in Hollywood, Alabama - the first Hollywood in America - and a 45 minute drive from where I grew up.
